A little bit undone

A LITTLE BIT UNDONE

It’s OK

I’m just a little bit undone

A shoelace come untied

An unfolded story trying to hide

A gift not quite securely tied

Overflown suitcase open wide

Unsecured. Unhitched. Unfastened.

All the buckles of humanity

To strap themselves in

To common decency and respect

Are swallowed up

In oceans of propaganda

Desert pretending to be forest

Wolf pretending to be lamb

Killing pretending to be… other

The micro and macro

Of man in his ignorance

Have found me on  my knees

Who can one trust

When we bind to our own shackles

Beholden to the other

Yet not to EACH other

Simple pure connection

No longer common place

No room for it in rhythms

Of another’s driving pace

How long to hide from the incessant throng

Til kindreds finally collect and belong

It’s OK

The course will stay

I’m just a little bit undone
